Bulldogs split twin bill
with Rockets
GAME 1
ROCHESTER -- The Bulldogs
came back from a four run deficit, to pick up the teams 8th victory of
the young season. A key sixth inning rally keyed the Bulldogs 8-5 victory.
Junior pitcher Tony Glosser
struggled early allowing 5 runs in the first 3 innings. Glosser settled
in nicely shutting down the Rockets and allowing the Bulldog bats to come
alive and pick up the victory.
And come alive did they.
In the sixth inning the Bulldogs were down 5-1 before a 5 run rally put
the Bulldogs into the lead. Daniel Wayne tied the game at 5 with a two
out 2-run double. The Bulldogs took the lead with a Matt Dilbeck single.
Glosser threw strikes and
the defense made the plays in the sixth and seventh, to hold on to a come
back 3-run win. The final score ended up 8-5 in the Bulldogs favor.
GAME 2
The second game was filled with
missed opportunities and the Bulldogs did not make key plays in the 7-4
loss. Junior pitcher Chris Burns struggled throughout his 2 2/3 innings
in the rain and wind. Burns did not recieve the best defensive effort the
Bulldogs put out this season.
Sophomore Sean Highley came
in and finished the pitching duties for the Bulldogs. Saint Teresa only
managed 4 runs in the seven innings of play. The fianl scored ended 7-4,
in the Rockets favor. |
