Bulldogs, Glosser shutout
Wildcats
EDINBURGH -- The Saint
Teresa Bulldogs got the 2001 season off on the right foot with the help
of opening game starter, Tony Glosser. Glosser threw 5 scoreless innings
in route to a 7-0 Bulldogs victory.
All bats were silent through 2 innings before a short rally by the bulldogs
opened the scoring for the 2001 season. The Bulldogs only run of the inning
though came on Daniel Cox's second bunt for a hit of the day. Cox's bunt
moved the Bulldogs out to a 1-0 lead.
Saint Teresa striked once again in the fourth when they scored 2 runs on
a Ryan Davis double to left-center field. The dawgs were not done yet.
Saint Teresa's bats came alive in the 6th and 7th driving in 4 more runs
to push it to a convincing 7-0 lead going into the bottom of the
seventh.
Along with Glosser's great effort the Bulldogs recieved a strong inning
from Bill Riebock and Chris Burns each. The Bulldogs will open their home
schedule on Monday when the cross town rival MacArthur Generals visit Saint
Teresa.
